Did you wake up this morning anxious to see who is going to run our nation for the next four years? Only to find yourself disappointed that no one knows for sure?
Nothing wrong with that. But consider these two things:
This morning and every morning, we know who runs the universe!
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:16-17 ESV).
This morning, temporary and earthly destinies hang in the balance. EVERY morning, eternal and heavenly destinies hang in the balance!
What if we woke up every morning and prayed like we believed that? And then lived that day with as much passion to see the lost saved and the church revived as we have today for an election?
And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10).
I can’t do anything today to decide who will reign as president. But I can do something today—love someone, pray for someone, share the gospel with someone—that can help decide who will reign with Jesus!
Will the church in America really believe this in these times? Will you?
The day awaits us. Let’s find out!
