Would you agree that we often make things more complicated than they need to be? Of course life comes with hardships; we all face losses and challenges that require nothing less than God’s strength to endure.

But the regular days—the get up, go to work, come home, do the evening routine, go to bed and repeat days—are the ones we tend to infuse with fear, anger, worry, and other such troubles.

God would love to spare us from these, but our doubt and disobedience work against us. We replace the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ with objections and second-guessing.

Walking in obedience and trust (the two cannot be separated) is not a matter of God manipulating us into robotic service. No! This is God’s way of protecting us, blessing us, leading us, and parenting us.

He is a good, good Father who wants His children to have joy to the fullest. And that comes only by obedience and trust.

Say YES to God when He says, “Go this way,” or “Do this,” because His will is always right, and His way is always best. It’s not complicated, so keep it simple.

“I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning,
your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
(2 Corinthians 11:3 NASB)
