A Life Action Pastors’ Retreat offers a chance to step away from the constant demands of ministry and rediscover the peace and presence of God. This restful getaway allows you to recharge alongside your spouse and reconnect with each other while connecting with other ministry leaders who understand the joys and struggles of pastoral life. Our retreat focuses on four key areas: solitude, rest, guidance, and encouragement. You’ll find space to reflect, renew your vision, and gain fresh inspiration throughout the week.

Hosted at EdenRidge, a Christian retreat and vacation destination on the Cumberland Plateau in East Tennessee, you’ll enjoy beautifully appointed cabins, the Welcome Center, World Missions Park, and a newly constructed Prayer Park. Located on the Cumberland Plateau 2,000 feet above sea level — the highest point between the Rockies and the Smoky Mountains — EdenRidge guests enjoy a mild climate with four distinct seasons that complement the abundance of natural wooded splendor, wildlife, and beautiful mountain views.

Come be refreshed, refocused, and reminded of the vital work God has called you to—equipped and energized to return to your ministry with renewed strength and purpose.

Doug and Marilyn Cuthbert

Doug and Marilyn Cuthbert serve as leader care specialists for Life Action and facilitators for Pastoral Retreats. Doug holds degrees in counseling and theology and spent 36 years in pastoral ministry, including work as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Alaska. Marilyn has a degree in Christian Education and taught in public and private schools for 28 years. Together, they’ve engaged in mission work across Peru, Russia, the Solomon Islands, China, and Mexico, focusing on ministry to pastoral couples. Passionate about walking alongside others in their stories of pain, hope, struggle, and joy, they encourage people to experience God’s love and guidance, believing He works “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20). Doug and Marilyn live in Sister Lakes, Michigan, and are proud parents of four grown children and grandparents to 15.
